Venue: Level 1, Sydney Mechanics' School of Arts, 280 Pitt Street, Sydney
We’re delighted to welcome three distinguished Australian poets – Les Wicks, Roger Vickery and Mark O’Connor – to our October Editors NSW meeting. Les, Roger and Mark will share their perspectives as poetry writers and editors and discuss the state of the poetry scene in general and strategies and approaches for one-on-one editing/mentoring. They will talk about editing projects, working in groups and collaboration in translation.
Les Wicks’ 13th book of poetry is Getting By Not Fitting In (Island, 2016). For 40 years, Les has been a figure of substance in the Australian literary community.
Roger Vickery writes poetry, short stories, plays, textbooks and scripts. He has won over 70 literary awards and his work has been published in Australian and overseas anthologies, magazines, online sites and major newspapers.
Mark O’Connor is a Canberra-based poet, environmental writer, amateur biologist and dedicated gardener. He has published 13 books of verse, including The Olive Tree: Collected Poems of Mark O’Connor, Hale and Iremonger, 2000.
