Experience: I have worked as a writer/editor for 12 years, mainly in the arts and film arena, including roles at RealTime arts journal (which involved writing over 60 articles spanning the arts and commissioning the film and digital media section, OnScreen), the Australian Film Commission, Sydney Film Festival and Power Publications, an academic publisher based at the University of Sydney, specialising in visual arts, film and cultural studies. I have had over 100 articles published in print including IF Magazine, Metro Magazine, Empire, AFC News and RealTime with a specialisation in Australian film.

In 2008 I edited Modernities Compared, a book comparing Thai and Chinese art in the 1980s and 1990s, written by University of Sydney Professor John Clark and soon to be published by Power Publications. I am currently editing a book for US author Erika Esau, Images of the Pacific Rim, to be published by Power Publications in late 2009.

Freelance clients have included the English Teachers’ Association of NSW (their journal mETAphor), Film Australia (Australian Biography Online), Ether Multimedia (The Pure Drop, an ABC/AFC online documentary), the Vanilla Sports website, Art Almanac, Mystery of Spice, CREATE Australia, Sommerson Project Management, MINTRAC and the National Assessors’ Workplace Training Board.

Qualifications: MA (Research), University of Sydney (in creative writing) with distinction; BA (Media Studies) with distinction, RMIT. Diploma of Book Editing and Publishing with high distinction, Macleay College. Diploma of Freelance Journalism, Australian College of Journalism.

Computer capability: I am both PC and Mac literate.

I have experience with a range of software including Word, Excel, Quark, InDesign, PhotoShop, Filemaker Pro and Dreamweaver. I have also used content management systems extensively when managing websites.

Services offered: Copyediting, proofreading, writing, marketing consultant, web content management, e-newsletters, project management, structural editing, theses, image and text permissions for books including copyright, manuscript appraisal and editing including screenplays.
