Writer, editor & publishing consultant Experience: Editing books, government reports and journals for 13 years. Recent writing projects include the Home and Community Care Program 2007–08 Business Report for the NSW Department of Ageing, Disability and Home Care. Recent editing projects include books and reports for the following clients: McGraw-Hill Australia (the Westmead Anaesthetic Manual, 3rd Edition), the Australian National University Medical School (academic articles for submission to Pathology), the Independent Commission Against Corruption (Strengthening the corruption resistance of the Public Health sector: discussion paper), the National Prescribing Service (Quality Use of Medicines Pharmacy Stakeholder Reference Group: meeting report), the University of Sydney, Queensland Health and the Australian and New Zealand Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. In-house editorial roles include being editorial manager of the peer-reviewed medical journal, Pathology for the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia, April 2003 – January 2004 (maternity leave position) and consultant editor of the medico-legal journal, UNITED during 2001. Other projects include editing the Two Minute Window, a pharmaceutical selling manual for a self publisher in 2004, editing the fourth edition of the Law Book C Tax Law Nutshell for Thompson Legal & Regulatory in 2003 and a structural and copyedit of the corporate profile for the Expert Witness Institute of Australia in 2002. Prior to that writing for the medical press (Australian Doctor and Medical Observer) 1995–2001, preparing health newsletters and other educational materials in the areas of rheumatology, radiology, diabetes, congestive heart failure, osteoporosis, women's health etc. In addition, I am the president of the Australasian Medical Writers Association (AMWA) and have been on the AMWA Executive committee for more than 10 years. Qualifications: BAppSci (UTS), MA (Journalism) (UTS), Dip Book Editing & Publishing (Macleay College, Sydney). Computer capability: PC, MS Word, MS Excel.
