The Residential Editorial Program is a mid-career development program for editors of fiction and creative non-fiction that has been run by the Australia Council and the Australian Publishers Association since 1999.
It is an exciting, inspiring and remarkably generous sharing of editorial experiences and ideas. The most recent REP was held in May this year at Mt Eliza. Linda Funnell was one of the three REP mentors at Mt Eliza and will share insights into how the program works and responses from those who have participated.
Linda Funnell is a publisher and editor and has taught courses in publishing, editing and writing for UTS, the ASA and the NSW Writers’ Centre. She has had a long involvement with the Residential Editorial Program, initially as a speaker and member of the inaugural organising committee in 1999, then as chair of the committee for the 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2010 REPs. In 2014 and 2017 she was a REP mentor. Her publishing career spans time as publisher with HarperCollins, fiction publisher at Random House and managing editor at Pan Macmillan.
